What are the Venus Pendants?
I created the Venus Series pendants as a statement of womanhood, and the
essence of the divine woman. In early Neolithic times, these special figures
of women were worshipped, or regarded as having special magical properties. The
figures were apparently used at special places of worship. The figure
"Venus of Willdendorf"
is the most famous example, though there are many others
of different size and shape. Though they have common features.
Most of these figures had legs tapering to a point, apparently so they
would stand upright in sand or soft earth. Thus, my "Venus" pendants, though not
quite as "fertile" of figure, also have tapered lower legs, and are full of
